How to Draw a Stormtrooper – let’s Get Initiated!

Step 1

To kick off this guide on how to draw a stormtrooper, we’ll start with the distinctive helmet. There are many small parts and details on this helmet, and it has a domed top. Then there are some triangular shapes for the eyelids with a piped ventilation system at the base. We are ready for the next step when you have replicated the helmet as it appears in the reference image.

Step 2

We’ll give him his rifle for the second part of your stormtrooper drawing. You can draw this with several straight lines and add a small cylindrical viewer on top of it. We added some minor details to his helmet; you can also draw the top of his shoulder.

Step 3

Now we can add some arms and a chest to your image in this step of our guide on how to draw a stormtrooper. Each arm has two major armor parts, with a small raven section between them. They will also be positioned so that you aim the rifle you just lifted into the air. Next, we’ll use curved lines for the sides of the chest piece. That’s all we’ll draw in this step, so let’s move on to the next step!

Step 4

There will be a lot of detail that we will add to your stormtrooper drawing in the next step, so be sure to take it slow and follow the guide closely! First, you can finish the details of the helmet. We’ll then add some small rectangular shapes on his forearm to get more detail. You can also finish the rest of the arm armor details with it. Once you’ve detailed the helmet and arms, you can add smaller rectangular shapes for his wais-t extending from the chest piece. His belt will also go at the base of this section and be drawn with more small rectangle shapes.

Step 5

You are nearing the end of this guide on how to draw a stormtrooper, and in this step, we will be drawing the beginning of his leg outlines. Like his arms, his legs have several sections of armor covering them. You can use curved lines to start drawing these sections of the leg armor, and as shown in the reference image, there will be four sections each, including the foot cover. I’ll notice some empty spots, but we’ll fill them up shortly!

Step 6

This step of drawing your stormtrooper will be about finishing the little finishing touches and details, so you’re ready for the final part. Most of these details will involve adding some black highlights between various sections of the armor. Any area in the drawing will be served with some point. Once you are done with these details, you can also add a few extras to finish it off. There are lots of Star Wars natures that would be a perfect fit. With this stormtrooper, from further stormtroopers to Darth Vader himself. You can also recreate your favorite stormtrooper scene from Star Wars by drawing a background to match that scene. How will you finish this image with your touches?

Step 7

This final step in our guide on how to draw a stormtrooper will take care of finishing it off by adding some colors. Stormtroopers aren’t exactly known for being colorful. Their armor is made up entirely of a black-and-white color scheme. There are still ways to bring some color variation to this image. We used some shades of gray to give more definition to the surfaces of his armor. Another way to add color type would be to add more colorful colors to whatever scene parts you’ve added. You could also draw more colorful characters to accompany this stormtrooper! What shapes will you use to add some color to this artwork?
